透過《尋道》，洪美玲體現內心嚮往的美麗世界。然而，人生時有頓挫，一如尋道也會迷蹤失路。運用象徵或轉喻的手段，她將心理層面的困境化為圖像，描摹成阻撓尋道的重重障礙。苦心孤詣創造情境，洪美玲的《尋道》上演著一場又一場猶如躲迷藏的文化遊戲。可能為了躲避、遁逃而藏蹤躡跡，可能已有追求和寄託，卻躊躇著不知行向何方——無論如何，尋道者永遠在路上，繼續念著那個仍在雲深不知處的世外桃源。

Hide and Seek: The Pilgrimage of Hong Mei-ling

Through Looking for Tao, Hong Mei-ling has manifested the beautiful world she longs for in her heart. Yet life is sometimes laden with setbacks, just as one can get lost on a quest. With symbolism and metaphor, she has transformed psychological hardships into images, depicting them as the numerous obstacles hindering the search for the Way. Painstakingly creating these scenarios, in Looking for Tao Hong Mei-ling has been enacting a long series of cultural games, as if playing hide-and-seek. Perhaps she has been covering her tracks in order to hide or to flee. Perhaps she has set out on a quest and found hope but is unsure where to go. Regardless, the seeker is always on the road, forever envisioning that otherworldly paradise still hidden somewhere in the clouds.
