Featuring our interview with Barney Greenway from Napalm Death (a childhood hero of Freddy!) where we talked about metal, dissent, and standing up for what we believe in.Released on October 10 (the designated national day for the Republic of China), this month we ditch the flag and anthem that claim to stand for Taiwan. We are a nation still in formation, and today, we dive into the thorny issue of national representation for a modern Taiwan. How do we (re)create ourselves? What is our national spirit? What kind of a nation do we want to be? ps: October 10, 1911 marked the beginning of an uprising in China that led to the fall of the Qing Dynasty and the establishment of a new China, led by a new group that called themselves the "Republic of China". (That’s great history - but it just didn’t have to do with Taiwan.) This is Metalhead Politics, a show about music, politics, and Taiwan. Co-hosted by Freddy Lim of Chthonic and Emily Y.
