Today our guest is Taiwan’s Former Air Force Deputy Commanding General Yan-Ting Chang. Following Dr. Malcolm Davis of Australia and Sean King of the US, General Chang shares with us his thoughts about Taiwan and East Asian security from a Taiwan perspective.

Members of the international community have increasingly expressed concerns over the peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait. General Chang points out, the US (along with Japan, the UK and the Netherlands and Japan, Australia, Canada and Germany) on two separate occasions in August and November 2021 conducted joint military exercise around the first island chain in East Asia.

Why are there such concerns regarding Taiwan security? How does Taiwan security impact other countries in the region? Is Taiwan facing the same kind of threat as Ukraine? What are the six mobilization signals to pay attention to before China launches major military actions again Taiwan? Let’s take a listen.
