用兵章第六十九
用兵有言：「吾不敢為主而為客，不敢進寸而退尺。」是謂行無行， 攘無臂，執無兵， 扔無敵。禍莫大於輕敵，輕敵幾喪吾寶。故抗兵相加，哀者勝矣。　

第 六 十 九 章
用 兵 有 言 ：「 吾 不 敢 为 主 ， 而 为 客 ﹔不 敢 进 寸 ， 而 退 尺 。 」
是 谓 行 无 行 ﹔ 攘 无 臂 ﹔扔 无 敌 ﹔ 执 无 兵 。
祸 莫 大 于 轻 敌 ， 轻 敌 几 丧 吾 宝 。
故 抗 兵 相 若 ， 哀 者 胜 矣 。

Dì liùshíjiǔ zhāng
yòngbīng yǒu yán:`Wú bù gǎn wéi zhǔ, ér wèi kè﹔bù gǎn jìn cùn, ér tuì chǐ. ' Shì wèi xíng wú xíng﹔ rǎng wú bì﹔rēng wúdí﹔ zhí wú bīng. Huò mòdà yú qīngdí, qīngdí jǐ sàng wú bǎo. Gù kàng bīng xiāng ruò, āi zhě shèng yǐ.

69. Ambush
There is a saying among soldiers:
It is easier to lose a yard than take an inch.
In this manner one may deploy troops without marshalling them,Bring weapons to bear without exposing them,
Engage the foe without invading them,
And exhaust their strength without fighting them.
There is no worse disaster than misunderstanding your enemy;
To do so endangers all of my treasures;
So when two well matched forces oppose each other,
The general who maintains compassion will win.

兵法家有句名言說：「我不敢主導戰事，寧願被動應戰。不敢輕率的進攻一寸，寧可謹慎的退守一尺。」
意思是若要逃，得先考慮路線，別走到無路可逃。
想抵擋時，得考慮手臂是否擋得住？會不會像螳臂擋車一般折損了。
向敵人投擲前，先要考慮孤注一擲，沒有成功的後果。
背水一戰前，先要考慮最後沒有成功，被困住的慘狀。
輕敵可說是最大的禍患，輕敵可讓我們變成一無所有。
所以，在兵力相當的對戰中，懂得做最壞打算的一方才有可能戰勝。
