The 是定冠詞


2 特別指定某人事物

A 前面提到過

We need to throw a birthday party for you. All your friends will come to the party.

B 從前後文可推理出指定的人事物

I don’t like the situation here.

I love the movie. 

C 這個人事物是話題中「唯一」的存在

My parents are talking to the Principal. 

或是世界上「唯一」的存在

例如：國際會議或是國際組織

The United Nations
The WHO - the World Health Organization
The Olympics
The World Design Forum
