躲.迷.藏:洪美玲的尋道旅程

《尋道》最初期的形式構成著重藏匿,秘徑隱蔽在畫面幽暗的深處,讓人感覺出路難覓,更不知導往何方。然而,藝術家很快就別開生面,確立鮮明可循的尋道路途,譬如:盤旋迂迴的山中路;可供拾級而上的階梯;宛若聖殿入口的拱形甬道;以及沿著陡峭斷崖闢鑿的險峻道路等。給人道阻且長印象的同時,洪美玲不經意地也提供了尋道者可能永無止境地在路上,甚或迷途的暗示。

The formal compositions of the earliest Looking for Tao paintings centered on concealment: Secret paths were hidden in the dark recesses of the pictures, making one feel that an exit was elusive and they were heading in an unknown direction. However, the artist quickly introduced new scenarios, establishing distinct, perceptible paths, such as winding mountain roads, ascending steps, archways resembling entrances to sanctuaries, and treacherous roads carved along steep cliffs. While conveying the impression that the path is long and filled with barriers, Hong also discreetly suggested that the seeker may be traveling the road forever, or may even be lost.
